About Me

Taylor Ness [he/him]

Hello! I’m Taylor Ness, a technical theatre professional. I have been working in theatrical lighting design and engineering since 2007 where I participated in my very first production. I have been enjoying my role at the Calderwood Pavilion for the last few years as the Operations Supervisor, overseeing the day-to-day goings on of this vibrant facility full of theatre makers. Working with theatre professionals on the tech side has always been an interest of mine, working as a techncian and a manager is very rewarding once a show opens!

I have also enjoyed my time teaching at my alma mater, Emerson College. I have taught TH-252 Production Electrician, a semester long course for undergraduates dealing with concepts of lighting systems engineering for theatrical application. I have also taught summer programs for the college since 2016.

I have been fortunate to work on productions of all sizes, ranging from Broadway musicals to fringe performances, mostly in the Greater Boston area.

I am a huge IndyCar fan, particularly of the Arrow McLaren team. I do my best to get to 1 or 2 races a season, but without a race in the northeast that's often a challenge. Absolutely nothing like the Indy 500! Is it May yet?
